Titanium Slag Smelting Furnace Equipment


Titanium Slag Smelting Furnace (also known as Titanium Slag Submerged Arc Furnace) is a specialized industrial electric furnace for smelting ilmenite concentrates into high-titanium slag (raw material for titanium dioxide & titanium sponge) and pig iron by carbothermic reduction at high temperature.

1. By Power Supply Mode


  • AC Titanium Slag Furnace (Three-Phase)
    • Standard industrial model, 12,500~36,000 kVA
    • Three graphite/Soderberg electrodes, circular/rectangular furnace body
    • Mature technology, widely used for acid-soluble & chlorinated slag

  • DC Titanium Slag Furnace
    • High-efficiency, 9,000~40,000 kW+
    • Lower power/electrode consumption (-10~15% power, -40% electrode)
    • Better stirring, higher product purity, lower noise


2. By Sealing Level


  • Closed Sealed Type
    • Fully enclosed, negative/micro-positive pressure
    • For high-titanium slag (TiO₂ >90%), CO gas recovery
    • Ideal for chlorination process feedstock

  • Semi-Closed Type
    • Partial hood, open/partially open operation
    • For acid-soluble titanium slag (TiO₂ 75~80%)
    • Lower investment, simpler maintenance
